MAJOR WORKSHOPS: (Participate in a concentrated study in one of these areas. Material fees may apply.)

Building a High Functioning Team - In this "get up and do" class, Tony Miller will share as many activities as possible, explore how to process the activities, and focus on teaching activities used to develop higher functioning groups. Activities will highlight communication, trust, cooperation, and planning. An electrical engineer from Haubstadt, IN, Tony works with 4-H youth and adults and is a self-proclaimed ordinary guy who has been leading recreation, teambuilding, and dance for over 25 years.

Native American Loom Beading - Dea Ogden is eager to share the beading she does for her friends and family members of the Eastern Shoshoni Tribe in Wyoming. Dea beads parts of their regalia to dance in Pow Wows and as well as beading Sundance Belts and Drags on Buckskin dresses for other occasions. In this class, Dea will help us create bracelets, hat bands, or other such loom beaded projects.

Let’s Write! - Have fun becoming better writers in the Black Hills! This writing workshop will give the writer tools for his/her toolbox and provide an opportunity for writing and sharing. Although we will focus on having fun with writing, we will hone serious writing skills. Susan Metcalf has been writing a humor/recipe column every week for 25 years. She taught junior high English for Big Timber, MT before becoming the Sweet Grass County Superintendent of Schools. She loves writing, cooking, and ranching. If you would like to preview Susan’s work, check out her Facebook page “Cooking with Susan Metcalf.”
