MORNING SESSION

Amanda Nelson - Paradise, UT

High performers don’t burn out because they lack drive. They burn out because they lack regulation. In
this experiential session, Amanda Monroy Nelson blends neuroscience, performance psychology, and
embodied practices to teach leaders how to master their internal state under pressure. You’ll learn to:
-Shift from reactive to regulated in real time
-Lead from clarity instead of cortisol
-Build resilience that doesn’t require white-knuckling it
-Expand your capacity for success without sacrificing your nervous system
Because sustainable leadership isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about becoming steadier. Amanda Monroy Nelson is a
high-performance coach and nervous system specialist from Paradise, UT, who helps leaders regulate under pressure so
they can elevate their impact without burning out

MAJOR WORKSHOPS
(Participate in a concentrated study in one of these areas)

Mandie Reed - Norwegian Rosemal

Discover the beauty of Norwegian rosemaling in this hands-on art class. Students will learn a brief history of this traditional folk art, explore regional styles, and practice essential rosemaling brushstrokes such as scrolls, C-strokes, and teardrops. Guided step by step, participants will apply these techniques to paint and complete a decorative wooden box. This class is suitable for beginners and focuses on building confidence with brush control, color blending, and traditional design. No experience necessary.

Vernon Parent - Escape Rooms

Problem-solving is one of the most in-demand workforce skills, yet many youth have limited opportunities to practice real-time decision-making, collaboration, and adaptive thinking. Escape rooms create an engaging, story-driven environment where teens must think critically, communicate effectively, and solve connected challenges under time pressure.

In this four-part workshop series, you will learn how to design and implement mobile escape rooms specifically for teen audiences. We will focus on four essential elements:

  1. Story and Structure

  2. Puzzle Design and Flow

  3. Immersion and Game Management

  4. Testing and Refinement

Each session includes hands-on building and a 30-minute escape room experience.

By the end of the series, you will be able to create portable escape rooms, build a flexible puzzle menu, and use structured reflection to turn a fun activity into a powerful youth development tool.

David Zapata - Recreation Rooted in Games

Recreation Rooted in Games explores fun, connection, and creativity through games for all ages and abilities. Participants will experience active and passive games both indoors and outdoors, discover ways to adapt activities for inclusivity, and learn how simple games can build communication, teamwork, and engagement. From cards and dice to no-prop games, outdoor activities, and oversized floor games, this class is all about bringing people together through play.
